Jefferson Pierce is a high school teacher, and the vigilante known as Black Lightning. At first, Black Lightning operated in Los Angeles where he developed a partnership with Blue Devil. He valued this partnership so strongly that he did not want to join the Justice League without Blue Devil. He retired from being a vigilante and moved back to Cleveland, where he grew up, with his father so his father can spend his last years surrounded by friends and family. After his father's death, he resumed his Black Lightning identity. After Superman is framed and rendered comatose, Black Lightning joined the group of heroes heading towards Mars to confront their mysterious enemy. read more
