History
His early life is largely unknown but it's stated that he joined the U.S. military and became good friends with Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in their first meeting. When Tony gave him the heavily armed version of the Mark II armor to his best friend, Rhodey took the name War Machine as Iron Man's partner in various hero missions. When the news report of the battle between Ultimo and Iron Man in California was spread, Rhodey was frustrated as he thought he doesn't need help.
