The Superhero Database Classification number, or SHDB Class, is a number that represents the overall 'power' of a character. All traits of a character are used for calculating the Classification.
What it DOESN'T mean
This doesn't mean that a higher class would always beat a lower class character. But the bigger the difference in Class is, the more obvious it is who'll win in a fight.
How is this calculated
( INT^1.3 + (STR*0.5 )^2 + (SPE*0.5)^2 + DUR^1.6 + (POW + (SPS*SPL))^2 + COM^1.8 ) ^ TIER
Super Power Score and Level
Every Super Power has a score (SPS) that is used to calculate the Class. Each Super Power also has 3 levels (SPL). The level is set when connecting that Super Power to a character. The level determines the final score, of the Super Power, being used in the calculation.
While not the most powerful healing factor in the Marvel Universe, Wolverine can still take all kinds of damage, heal, and keep coming. This ability to take damage puts him on another level when it comes to brawlers in the Marvel Universe.
And for Black Panther, Yes, one of the smartest guys in the rooms, Black Panther isn't just a great superhero, he's also a world leader and no slouch in the science department. He has been faced with problems that he can't always fight his way through... or at least not just with his fists. T'Challa is a master strategist in many ways, both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table. This makes him a very well rounded opponent.
Logan is the best at what he does because himself... Wolverine. has been alive for a very long time and in all that time, he's been learning. His education has been in combat. When it comes right down to it, there probably aren't very many superheroes who are as skilled as Wolverine when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.
He's fought in just about every war of at least the last hundred years, has trained with some of the greatest martial artists around the world, and has been a superhero for years. There are very few people who can take him in a straight hand-to-hand contest.
And T'Challa makes his Power so Indomitable, But one of the things about Black Panther that make him such a deadly opponent is the simple fact that he never backs down. T'Challa has known defeat, but it wasn't because he gave up. Even against foes who would easily defeat him, Black Panther never wavers and it's this confidence that has made even the most dangerous foe of his have second thoughts about facing him... and that's when T'Challa wins.
But Much like Black Panther himself, Logan, The Wolverine that he is himself never backs down from a fight either... and more than that, he picks fights with enemies that he probably shouldn't pick fights with. Sometimes, this costs him dearly- Wolverine has lost a lot of fights, way more than Black Panther has.
However, it also means he has some really impressive victories under his belt as well. Wolverine is one of the few guys in the Marvel Universe who can be called upon to fight the Hulk and doesn't even balk at it. Sure, that mean seem stupid- it's okay to be afraid of the Hulk- but Wolverine knows just how dangerous the Hulk is and, what's more, has even defeated the Jade Giant on occasion. Wolverine does this sort of thing all the time- beats guys who he shouldn't even be able to stand against.
But within Black Panther's Total Will of Battle, Black Panther has it all. His physical skills and fighting ability are amazing. Black Panther has fought entire teams of both heroes and villains to a standstill. He's always one of the smartest guys in any room he walks into and he hangs around with guys like Tony Stark and Reed Richards. When it comes to strategy, he's on par with Captain America. Add to that his vibranium-based armor and weapons and Black Panther is a guy no one would want to face in a fight.
But within Wolverine, He's the Underdog with a bite, It's strange to say this about one of the most popular comic characters ever, but Wolverine is just about always the underdog in most situations he finds himself in. Sure, he has an indestructible skeleton and claws, a healing factor, low-level super strength, and super senses, but he is in a world where rage monsters have potentially infinite strength and he is known for throwing himself at a guy with magnetic powers even though metal is a big part of him. Wolverine is an underdog in every sense of the word, but he somehow manages to come out on top just enough to earn his deadly reputation.
Black Panther is Wolverine's superior in a lot of ways and has even been able to beat him in a short fight before, but if it really came down to it, all the cards on the table, Wolverine would beat him. There's nothing Black Panther can do to Wolverine that other people haven't done to him and Wolverine is just more of a skilled hand-to-hand combatant than him. He has more experience. It would be a brutal fight, as the two men used all of their skills to attack the other, but Wolverine would triumph because he could just take more damage and keep dishing it out. Black Panther is a hard nut to crack, but Wolverine would be able to do it. I Love Ya Black Panther, But Wolverine Wins This Battle.
Black panther's claws can delay wolverine's regeneration and break his bones as well.
Here is an self-explanation of his claws by T'chala.
Remember Logan's even competitor sabretooth? he does not seem impressive against a Wakandan guy.
In my opinion, despite anti-metal claws black panther would not be able to kill Logan, so if fight is for death wolverine won't loose. In any other cases black panther wins 10 out of 10.
P.s "wolverine fought against hulk" is not a convincing argument. That happened several times, because they both were popular characters, probably best sellers after spider-man and the writers satisfied fan demands. Beating Mephisto (Black panther did) is way greater feat than defeating hulk 2 times out of 5.
