Akura Pride's History
Earlier life
Akura Pride was born the younger brother of Akura Mercy, renowned family genius of the Akura Clan. When Mercy discovered her Underlord revelation at her young age, she set her bet with Akura Malice to return to Lowgold and advance without assistance of the family. Pride advances to Underlord during her absence, and thanks to his combat Path, outclasses all of the other young Underlords of the clan.
Uncrowned
Wei Shi Lindon Arelius was introduced to Pride and the other young Akura Underlords as their second contestant, along with Akura Mercy, for the upcoming Uncrowned King Tournament, the world-spanning tournament deciding the power dynamic of the next generation. Pride especially regards Lindon with great scorn, outright attacking him at the earliest opportunity and challenging him again over the days leading up to the tournament, setting an example for the other Akura Underlords to do the same. However, due to Dross's simulation capabilities, these challenges only served Lindon's training. In the final competition between the Akura Underlords to decide the third contestant for the primary Akura team, Lindon arrives and defeats everyone except Pride at once. Before Pride can challenge Lindon one-on-one for a third time, the fight was stopped by Akura Charity, who finalized Lindon as her choice for the Tournament. Akura Fury then allowed Pride and Akura Grace to duel for the third spot, which Pride won, securing his position on the team.
Leading up to the tournament, Pride and Lindon butted heads frequently. Lindon didn't live up to Pride's expectations for an honorable representative of his family, and, likely because of this, Lindon refuses to treat him with the same respectful nature that he typically treats everyone else. During the first round of the tournament, both did well for themselves, Pride less so due to the less versatile nature of his Enforcer-exclusive path.
During the second round of the tournament, Pride ignored the plan that the Akura faction had developed for their teams to advance through the round, and instead forced Mercy and Lindon to follow him as he seeks out opponents. He handled himself very well in fights, meeting the Blackflame Empire team along the way, but the combined group ran into issues once they encountered Sopharanatoth and her team. During the fight, Pride was about to be cut down by Sophara when Lindon intercepted a blow, saving his life at the cost of Lindon's own. After Sophara advances to the next round, Pride continues fighting on the island, eventually securing a crown, which he delivered to Lindon once he was allowed to return to the battlefield. He returned to the fighting but failed to secure another crown, getting eliminated from the Tournament.
Wintersteel
We later see that the eliminated individuals of the Akura teams were sent to Sky’s Edge to help suppress the Dreadgod cults and dragons in the area, preparing for the awakening of the Wandering Titan. Akura Pride was placed in command of a squad until Lindon was eliminated from the Tournament in the fourth round and placed in command instead. However, Lindon's efficiency earned even Pride's begrudging respect.
While Lindon returned to the tournament grounds to watch the quarter-finals, the Akura team was taken captive by a group of cultists and dragons that forced them to fight for their entertainment. Lindon arrived alongside Eithan Arelius and Akura Mercy after the quarter-finals to rescue them, stunning Pride once more with his increase in power.
Following the final round of the Tournament, the Akura teams were pulled through a portal by the treacherous Prince Seishen Daji, where they were ambushed by Dreadgod cults and the gold dragon Sopharanatoth in an assassination attempt. Pride nearly died before Lindon and Little Blue arrived in time to enact emergency first aid.
Dreadgod
After Lindon's meteoric rise to becoming the Master of the Labyrinth, Akura Pride defiantly arrived at his cloudship to talk with him about his motivations and possible conflict with the Akura Clan. After a short conversation, Pride warned Lindon against advancing too fast, then returned home.
Waybound
Akura Pride was one of the individuals to ascend alongside Lindon following his elimination of hunger aura.
