Enlil (Sumerian Mythology)

Enlil

Enlil (Sumerian Mythology)'s History

Enlil , the son of An, is a supreme deity of the Sumerian Pantheon.

He plays a key role for the creation of the Sumerian cosmos, because he separated Heaven from Earth, carrying off the latter.

Enlil took supreme control of the Earth and of the Winds, but he could also send cataclysmic Floods.

Enlil fathered the moon, and he holds the tablets of fate.

He is responsible for establishing all concepts and fundamental laws (the so-called "Me") , which govern all aspects of the world, and of the Sumerian civilization.
