Hawkman

Hawkman's History

Robin grew up in an orphanage secretly owned and operated by the Church of Eternal Empowerment. After reaching adulthood there, he would go on to take over a dojo after defeating the previous instructor in a fight, which attracted the attention of Reverend Darrk. Drawn to the Church, Robin would become Darrk's henchman, robbing banks and the rich to fuel the Church's ever expanding reach. Eventually he was tasked with killing Batman, which he was unable to do before being partially broken from Darrk's control.

With the coming of Crisis, Robin was recruited by Batman to aid in the fight against the otherworldly tyrant. Darrk's corruption had not left Robin, however, and he turned on his team. To further augment himself, he broke the Incan Hawk Rune he had stolen earlier and was transformed into the nightmarish Hawkman. Aiding Crisis in the final battle, Hawkman defeated Superman and Batman while Crisis crushed the rest. With the last of his power, Green Lantern called out to Yggdrasil, whose power manifested and purified/killed Hawkman and turned Robin into the ultimate force for good: The Atom. He would swiftly defeat Crisis and pledge to protect the Earth from that point onwards.
