Jesper Yanix

Jesper Yanix

Jesper Yanix's History

Backstory

Jesper Yanix was once an idealistic Assassin, defending freedom and justice as did his illustrious forebears. However, after years of struggling against powerful enemies and losing beloved brothers in the line of duty, he grew twisted by cynicism. He came to believe that the ends always justified the means, and that corruption was merely a tool to be wielded by those clever enough to do so. The darkness he fought would never cease gathering its forces, so virtue was a luxury few could afford. Yanix rose through the ranks of the Order, using his cunning and ruthlessness as much as skill or guile. He gained power not to defend the helpless but for its own sake. Any that questioned his methods were struck down without mercy. Eventually, most in the Order came to fear and admire Yanix for his results, if not the path he trod to achieve them. All except Clark Kenway, an idealistic young recruit who still believed in the light they once stood for. Kenway condemned Yanix as a sinister threat, unaware of the plots Yanix had long had in motion. Yanix struck Kenway down without hesitation, banishing him in disgrace. But Kenway's accusations lingered, threatening to undermine the influence Yanix had woven so carefully. So Yanix set about weaving new schemes of deceit and manipulation, corrupting not just the Order but magnates and magistrates alike. He planned to plunge the world into war and ruin, so he might rise from its ashes as a tyrant whose every whim was law. After many battles and betrayals, Kenway emerged once more to stop Yanix, now fully aware of the sinister villain he had become. But Yanix believed his power and influence now unassailable. He was convinced darkness would forever triumph in the end. Kenway defended hope against despair until at last, he defeated Yanix's forces and confronted the villain himself. Despite all the evil Yanix had done, Kenway showed him mercy, believing even the most twisted soul could find redemption.Yanix died disgraced, his sinister philosophy condemned, but the scars of corruption he left would long endure. Still, light had triumphed against darkness, and the world could begin to heal.
