Mechagodzilla's powers and abilities

Armor - MechaGodzilla is coated in a Diamond Coating that allows it to neutralize and absorb energy-based attacks into its system. This coating made MechaGodzilla largely immune to all beam attacks it encountered until the 1,200,000 degree Celsius of Godzilla's Uranium Heat Ray melted the coating.

Flight - With its jets, MechaGodzilla can fly at speeds up to Mach 1. After the Garuda has been integrated and it becomes MechaGodzilla, the flight speed doubles to Mach 2. MechaGodzilla can also use these jets to hover and stay mobile as it launches its ranged attacks.

Weaponry - MechaGodzilla is a walking arsenal, featuring quite a few weapon systems to defeat Kaiju


• Mega Buster - This beam weapon fired from the mecha's mouth is on par with Godzilla's Atomic Breath. The beam can become temporarily inoperable if it's overloaded.
  
  
• Laser Cannons - Located in MechaGodzilla's, eyes, these are less powerful than the Mega Buster and better used as a harassment tool when other weapons are unavailable or to bolster the power of another weapon.
  
  
• Shock Anchor/G-Crusher - Fired from MechaGodzilla's forearms, the Shock Anchor fires immense amounts of electricity into its target, overwhelming their nervous system. After this system backfired in the mecha's first encounter with Godzilla, they were upgraded to the G-Crushers. These harpoons actually managed to temporarily cripple Godzilla before the latter regenerated with Rodan's assistance.
  
  
• Paralyzer/Tranquilizer Missiles - Fired from ports on the mecha's shoulders, these missiles are meant to incapacitate or slow an enemy.
  
  
• Plasma Grenade - MechaGodzilla's most powerful weapon, the Plasma Grenade is fired from the Mecha's belly after it has been charged with energy from the Diamond Coating or by the mecha's generator. Fired in a linear beam, the Plasma Grenade was capable of gravely wounding Godzilla and nearly killed Rodan.
  
  
• Self Destruct - In the manga, MechaGodzilla is capable of detonating its core in a massive explosion.
  
  

The Garuda - MechaGodzilla is assisted in combat by the Garuda, a large aircraft focused on providing support fire with its long range maser cannons.

Super MechaGodzilla- MechaGodzilla can fuse with the Garuda to form its Super form. The initial fusion appears to repair functionality to all damaged systems, as MechaGodzilla's damaged eye and Mega Buster were fully operational after fusing. The Garuda's weapons are also added to MechaGodzilla's and the mecha's speed is increased.

Mechagodzilla's weaknesses

CQC - MechaGodzilla has no specialized melee weaponry and needs to stay at range to continue to be a threat.

Extreme Heat - Extremely high temperatures can melt MechaGodzilla's special diamond coating, rendering its energy absorption properties no longer relevant.
