Mindstorm was a member of the payback team, he later accepted the offer from stan edgar to assist in defeating soldier boy giving him away to the russians. After this he lays low for awhile, in a lonely cabin in the woods as he does not like to socialize with other people and has extreme axienty. When soldier boy got released by the boys he went after his old payback members for revenge for how they betrayed him. Soldier boy was extremely cautious when going after mindstorm showing how powerfull he is, hughie later tries to save mindstorm from getting killed by soldier boy, but soldier boy interupts by throwing a knife in mindstorms eye and covering his head with a bag so he cant use his powers. Mindstorm begging for his life reveals how soldier boys sperm was used to create homelander and how this was the reason that he got kidnapped by the russian as he was no longer needed. In a blind rage soldier boy strikes mindstorm in the head multiple times with his shield until he dies.
