Mithion's History

Mark Mithion is a former Navy pilot and NASA astronaut who was sent on a mission to live on the International Space Station and complete outside repairs and upgrades. Donning a cutting edge energy absorption spacesuit, Mark was tethered to the station and was setting up the various new camera systems and measuring devices when suddenly the entire space station began to be pulled towards a massive star that appeared out of nowhere.

The star, with a mass greater than 30,000 of Earth’s sun, was about to go hyper-nova. The space station was caught directly in the middle of this immeasurable cosmic blast.

The resulting hyper-nova instantly released nearly 100,000,000,000 times more energy in a second than Earth’s Sun will have released in its entire 10 billion year lifespan. Something unexpected happened, just as quickly as the unbelievable amount of energy was instantly released it also instantly vanished. It all was just a blinking flash.

Back on Earth the massive star emitted nearly blinding light and deadly heat for a span of less than one one millionth of a second. The result should have been a catastrophic increase in global temperature but that didn’t happen.

There was just enough time for a few images of the incident to be captured before the ISS vaporized. NASA quickly began to study these images and prepare a press release as the massive explosion was witnessed by billions of people, millions of which should have been injured. The damage on Earth should have been devastating, but for some reason it wasn’t.

What the images showed was astonishing. Instead of a space station about to be engulfed by an incredible wave of energy there was only a single tiny shape that had to be enhanced many times. The image was of a man.

Mithion himself does not remember what happened after the ISS was vaporized. All he remembers is setting up the new equipment on the exterior of the ISS and then a sudden extreme flash of light. He awoke floating in space with Earth in the distance. As he came to his senses he realized that he was alive, which shouldn’t be possible.

Looking down at his body he saw the absorption suit but it looked different and the body within it was now much more muscular than the trim and fit athletic body Mark worked for years to maintain in the Navy.

After floating in space disoriented and confused Mithion, feeling an immense new power within himself, began moving towards Earth. Upon entering the atmosphere he watched as the intense heat did nothing to him. What can only be described as by flying he landed back at the base his ship launched from and was greeted by numerous personnel who simply stared at him in shock and disbelief.

In the months and years that followed Mithion would become a powerful superhero and protect Earth from a multitude of cosmic and alien threats that arrived after the hyper-nova. During all of that he never ceased research into where the massive star suddenly came from and how he survived such an awesome release of energy.

The main theory, through pretty hard to scientifically believe, is that somehow the energy absorption spacesuit he was wearing managed to absorb the incompressible amount of energy that was released. The result fused the suit to Mithion’s body and transformed him into a god-like being with numerous cosmic abilities.
