Nobot's History

Nobot, also known as "Ghost Droid", was a 3PO-series protocol droid that would constantly walk aimlessly on the streets of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine. It would bear scorch marks of blaster fire and was covered in dried blood. Its serial number had been scored off to prevent identification. No matter how far it travelled across the desert, it always found its way back to Mos Espa. Nobot became the subject to several tales, anecdotes, and rumors. For two peggats, a tale of Nobot would be told by Mos Espa marketplace vendor Jira.

According to the story, Nobot was the only surviving witness of the murder of a young pregnant girl. Some have believed that the 3PO unit was the killer. After the incident, Nobot would play an audio recording of the event. The recording would involve the young woman pleading and screaming for her life before getting murdered. The recording would also replay after a long period of static. After hearing Jira's story, fellow vendors developed their own version of it and would sell it to compete with Jira.

It was claimed that the droid was surrounded by evil spirits or the dark side of the Force. Tusken Raider youths would use the unit for target practice. But their weapons would either backfire or become jammed. Swoop gangs attempted to destroy Nobot with hooks and chains, but their vehicles' engines malfunctioned. Their steering vanes would even shorn off. Farmboys tried to take the droid and leave it at the Dune Sea or the Great Pit of Carkoon. Later on, they would learn that the droid had found its way back to Mos Espa. As of 32 BBY, the droid was still wandering, devoid of purpose.
