Qiu Qianren's History

Qiu Qianren was the former leader of the Iron Palm Sect. A well-known and respected member of the martial arts community, he was born a sickly child when the preceding leader of the Iron Palm Sect offered to teach his older twin brother, Qiu Qianzhang, martial arts. However, Qiu Qianzhang decided to give this opportunity to his brother. He later regretted this decision greatly, and would often impersonate Qiu Qianren after his rise to power, though his own martial arts skill was very poor in comparison.

Before the first Huashan Tournament, Qiu Qianren secretly broke into the house of the Dali ruler Duan Zhixing and fatally wounded the illigitamate child of his concubine and Zhou Botong. If Duan Zhixing decided to save the child, he would be sacrificing much of his energy, leaving him weakened for the tournament, and if he didn't, he would come to regret it in the future. The latter is what happened, and Qiu Qianren failed to become one of the Five Greats. However, this incident did cause Duan Zhixing to become a monk, adopting the name Yideng and leaving his kingdom.

Qiu Qianren later decided to assist Wanyan Honglie, the Jin Prince, against Song China. However, most of his "appearances" were impersonations by his brother. One of the times he actually showed up was at the announcement of the next Beggar's Sect Leader, during which Huang Rong was meant to succeed the position. Yang Kang sought to take the position himself, and fought Guo Jing alongside Qiu Qianren. The plan failed, however, and the two retreated.

At some later point, Qiu Qianzhang stole some of the treasure that Wanyan Honglie had sent to his brother and tried to escape from Iron Palm Sect. However, he encountered Guo Jing and Huang Rong (who had been injured by the real Qiu Qianren) and his cover is blown by Huang Rong. He later falls to his death from Iron Palm mountain.

At the Second Huashan Tournament, Qiu Qianren once again appeared to take a place amongst the Five Greats. However, he was recognized by Ying Gu, the mother of the child he murdered. Qiu Qianren became a monk under Yideng to atone for his sins, adopting the name Ci'en.
