Rodan (Heisei)

Rodan's powers and abilities

Flight - Rodan can fly at speeds up to at least Mach 3. The wind and shockwaves caused by his unique flight technique is capable of leveling entire cities and knocking over much larger Kaiju. He can also flap his wings while on the ground to create the wind gusts.

Beak and Spikes - Rodan's main weapons consist of his beak and the spikes growing out of his chest. The former her has used to injure Godzilla and even penetrate Super MechaGodzilla's eye socket. His chest spikes have proven an effective weapon for hit and run attacks with his bulk adding to the penetrative power.

Intelligence - Although never displaying the preplanning capabilities of the Showa Godzilla, Rodan has proven to be a fairly intelligent Kaiju who can communicate and coordinate with other monsters, such as when he and Godzilla fought Ghidorah throughout the Showa era or during the battle against Millennium Godzilla in Final Wars.

Strength - Although not as strong as Godzilla or Anguirus, Rodan has proven to be a strong Kaiju in his own right, lifting massive boulders to drop on foes, briefly lifting Godzilla and using his ramming strength to knock King Ghidorah out of the sky.

Tough Skin - Outside of the original Rodans dying from lava, all later incarnations of Rodan have shown an incredible resistance to heat and fire. He has also been able to shrug off the lighter breath weapons fired at him throughout his appearances.

Wind Breath - In his film debut, Rodan was able to fire a wind-like irradiated breath that was capable of leveling buildings and blowing tanks around.

Energy Absorption and Transferal - The Heisei Rodan was capable of absorbing radiation and other energy sources to gain additional abilities. He was also capable of transferring this energy to allies, although this did cost him his life.

Uranium Heat Ray - After absorbing enough radiation and achieving his Fire Rodan state, Rodan was able to fire a Uranium Heat Beam from his mouth. It acted very similarly to Godzilla's own atomic breath, but weaker.

Telepathy - Rodan demonstrated a degree of telepathy in his Heisei incarnation, as he was able to psychically communicate with Godzilla Jr. over long distances.

Rodan's weaknesses

Limited Durability - Although he is capable of taking hits, Rodan's durability is much lower than many of his other Kaiju allies. In the Heisei era, a weapon that merely staggered Godzilla was able to fatally wound Rodan in a single hit.
