Sha Miara's History

After the former Monarch, Sha Leiala, died from plague spirits after ruling for two hundred years, she passed on her power and knowledge to the twelve-year-old Sha Maira using the heavily guarded Heaven’s Wish technique. Wei Shi Lindon was shown her coronation by Suriel in book 1.

The royal family kept the death of Sha Leiala a secret, because the family’s vulnerability with a child-queen. The illusion of Sha Leiala still made regular appearances across the nation, and as far as the citizens know, their queen is healthy and strong. By royal decree, Sha Miara’s name and her true identity as the Luminous Queen were known only to the Sha family, their direct servants, and the other Monarchs. She remained isolated in her palace, surrounded by the same faces every day until the 18th Uncrowned King Tournament, when she begged to compete.

In order to compete in a tournament for Underlords, her power was sealed down to a peak Underlord’s power. She was also forbidden from using a weapon or from “advancing” to Overlord. Despite all this, she remained one of the most likely winners of the Tournament, at least to the public eye. She made it to the top 16, earning the title of Uncrowned, before being defeated by Eithan Arelius in nine seconds.

Soon after the Tournament, her identity became public. She battled the Weeping Dragon alongside Northstrider and Reigan Shen, and later helped kill Shen in the final battle with the Dreadgods. She ascended along with Emriss Silentborn, Ziel, Akura Mercy, and Yerin.
