The Clock's History

The Clock was one of the ghosts that resided within the Old James House. His spirit was attached to a small clock.

In The Clock's youth, he was forbidden from making noise prior to 8 am and yet he'd always wake up far earlier. Every morning he would sit watching the clock on the mantle in complete silence until the clock finally struck the magic time. On his 18th birthday, he was drafted into the Second World War which he would not return from. His ashes were shipped home, however, and what was left of his soul attached itself to the clock he had obsessed over for so long.

By 1994, the Clock had been stolen from the Old James House and Ami was sent to retrieve him. His clock had found its way into a Dead End Video, own ed by the manager of the store. When Ami arrived to retrieve the ghost, she found that the manager had been killed by TFT in System Disrupt's attempt to gain custody of the ghost. The Clock was retrieved by Ami during the ensuing battle and returned to the House.

Although he had only recently returned to the House, the Clock quickly lent his powers to help Ami animate the House to fight TFT. When the House was forced into the ocean, he stayed within.

Ami and Buzz soon returned to the House and agreed to enter it due to the imminent arrival of the Nuclear Bastard leaving them no choice. Rip soon appeared as well and Marky ushered them all into the House. During the battle, The Clock created spectral gears that acted as muscles and ligaments that physically moved the House.

The House would eventually be beaten down by Meg and the Nuclear Bastard. Before they could be destroyed, the Juliette possessed Rip would emerge from their newly formed tunnel with the intention of destroying the House once and for all. This, however, had been Old James's plan all along and he asserted control over the other ghosts, The Clock included, to subdue his daughter and trap her within the House. Finally reunited with all of its ghosts, the House made quick work of the Nuclear Bastard and Meg before returning to its foundations.

During the final months of the House, The Clock mostly followed Old James's commands without question. However, the Clock would finally rebel against his oppressor and use his ghostly energy to help power the detonation of the Nuclear Bastard's reactor, which finally freed him from his physical shackles.
