Propulsion - The main sub-light drive on Excelsior-class starships was an impulse drive, located at the back of the saucer/primary hull section of the ship. The warp engines were capable of at least warp 7, although the ships were intially fitted with an experimental trans-warp drive.Armament - The Enterprise was armed with Phaser banks and several sets of photon torpedo launchers spread across the ship, althoughtwo primary launchers were located on both sides of the deflector dish.
