Warp Darkmatter's History

Warp Darkmatter joined Star Command at roughly the same time as Buzz Lightyear. The two, rivals at first, eventually became partners and a top-notch team, handling a variety of dangerous missions for Star Command. Unknown to Buzz and the Galactic Alliance, Warp was secretly working for Zurg. When the Evil Emperor kidnapped a trio of LGM's to discover the secret of the species hive intelligence, Lightyear and Darkmatter were assigned to rescue them. During the mission, Warp apparently sacrificed himself to save Buzz and the aliens. The loss devastated Lightyear, and he refused to take on a new partner.

Darkmatter gained new cyberbiotic enhancements from Zurg and was renamed "Agent Z". After revealing his info regarding the Uni-Mind to Zurg, Z was assigned to capture it. He confronted Lightyear and the robotic XR on the LGM homeworld, destroying the latter and capturing the Uni-Mind for Zurg, which the Evil Emperor repurposed as the power source for a weapon to enslave the minds of every sentient being in the universe, a goal he nearly accomplished. When the team led by Buzz Lightyear infiltrated Planet Z to stop Zurg, Darkmatter confronted and revealed himself to his old partner. Rattled to his core, Buzz was rescued by his companions, two of whom, Booster Munchapper and a rebuilt XR, managed to defeat and capture Warp. After Zurg was defeated and peace restored, Darkmatter was taken into Star Command custody.

Some time later, Warp escaped and menaced Team Lightyear numerous times on missions for Zurg.
