It is disguised as a hairdryer. It can also work in reverse and vacuum in large amounts of wind, and can produce heat (fire infrared) rays, in which Alex used to speed up the molecules of her friends. There are multiple variants/versions of this, the original (supposedly stronger) 9000 model, one made for heat seeking, one made to use laser heat, one for thermal waves, but they all come done to being the same gadget with an extra purpose.
