Wolfman

Larry Talbot

Wolfman's History

Lawrence Talbot was born in 1900, the younger son of Sir John Talbot. He moved to America around 1923, and lived there until his elder brother's unfortunate death in 1941. Afterwards, he moved back to the family's ancestral home in Wales to take over the estate. Talbot met the lovely young Gwen Conliffe when visiting her family's antique store, and purchased a silver-tipped cane bearing the image of a wolf and a pentagram. While on a nighttime stroll with Gwen, Larry attempted to rescue Conliffe's friend Jenny from what appeared to be a wolf. Larry beat the creature to death with his cane after suffering a non-fatal bite, but Jenny died from her injuries. However, the wolf was actually the gypsy Bela, a werewolf. His bite cursed Larry with the same affliction. Unable to keep the transformations in check and guilty over his actions in wolf-form, Larry gave his cane to his father, hoping the elder Talbot will be able to do what needs to be done. Sure enough, The Wolfman attacked Gwen one night, but is beaten to death by John. As the creature died, he returned to human form.

Four years later, Talbot was revived after his grave was dug up on the night of a full moon. Believing the work of Dr. Frankenstein could resolve his condition, Larry visited the ruins of the Doctor's castle and accidentally revived the Monster created by Frankenstein years ago. In order to put both creatures down for good. Baroness Elsa Frankenstein enlists the help of Dr. Mannering. The process goes wrong however, and the Creature is granted full strength and attacks Elsa. Talbot transforms into the Wolfman and battles the Frankenstein creature until the castles is destroyed by a flood. Both monsters survived, and were found years later by the evil Dr. Niemann. Niemann promised to cure Talbot, while Daniel, Niemann's hunchbacked assistant, was jealous of him since the gypsy girl Ilonka loved Talbot over him. After revealing his secret to Ilonka, the gypsy decided to end Larry's suffering with a silver bullet. After the Wolfman emerged on the night of a full moon, Ilonka killed him at the cost if her own life.

Somehow surviving this, Talbot sough out the help of Dr. Edelmann to cure his Wolfman curse. Unbeknownst to Larry, Edelmann has become a Jekyll-Hyde type individual after being infected with the blood of Dracula. Larry is eventually cured of his condition, and Edelmann is killed in his Hyde form by Frankenstein's monster.

Some time later, Talbot had come under the Werewolf curse once more. Having discovered that the coffins of Dracula and the Frankenstein monster had been shipped to a sideshow attraction in Florida, Talbot allied with baggage clerks Wilbur Grey and Chick Young to destroy the two monsters while simultaneously trying to keep his transformations in check. When Dracula was revived and sought to transplant Wilbur's brain into the Monster, Young and Talbot went to rescue their comrade. While Wilbur and Chick battled Frankenstein's monster. Larry fought Dracula in his werewolf form. Dracula turned into a bat to try and escape out the castle window, but the Wolfman grabbed the vampire and the two fell to their apparent deaths in the rocky waters below.
