Yithian

Yithian's History

The Great Race are race of alien creatures presumably from the planet Yith. They have unlocked the ability to peer into the past and future, which they utilize alongside their technology to flee disasters that they cannot create a solution to. During the events of The Shadow Out of Time, the Yithians were inhabiting molluscoid creatures sometime before the Cretaceous extinction event. It is alluded to that they warred with the Elder Things and fought against the Flying Polyps, only managing to defeat the latter by sealing them within the Earth. When the Polyps eventually reemerged and eradicated most life on Earth, the Yithians chose to flee to the distant future where they stole the bodies of a beetle-like species that would arise after the fall of man.
